Leather Zippered A5 Leuchtturm1917 Notebook Folio - Crazy Horse Smoky

This isn't my first purchase from Galen Leather and it absolutely won't be my last!

I had a question after ordering and they responded almost immediately and their service was incredible (as always).

I have been eyeing up the forest green leather for a long while and it's honestly even more beautiful in person! I have it filled with four fountain pens, a iPad Mini, a Moleskine notebook and my airpods and it still zippers closed and fits everything well. It is the most perfect addition to my collection and I know I'll be using it for many years to come.

I have had my eye on a folio for about six months, wanting and needing something a little more organized than my passport wallet. Being a returning customer of Galen, I always have extremely high expectations, and as always they exceed them. The burnt orange coloration is rich and deep, there is a place for everything I carry on my day to day, the quality is just phenomenal. I love that it can hold a A5 book or pad, there are multiple slots for notes, cards, cash, or whatever you need to stow away. I personally removed the removable pen holder because my everyday pad is so thick it created a bit of tension with it filled and included, but as I work those pages down I can definitely see putting it back in there. Galen is the epitomy of quality and care when it comes to their product.

I love this cover but using a Leuchtturm1917 hardcover notebook and a couple of TWSBI pens made the seam give way a little on the side. It's not a huge deal and it's still very secure. The pens also left an indent i the notebook cover - also not a huge deal. I now use this for a commonplace book and I don't keep the pens in it. I'm glad they now have the deeper version.

I just received A5 notebook folio (ch brown). It exceeds my expectation for its quality and the texture of the leather.
I am waiting for my second order with great anticipation.

I was searching a case for A5 bullet journal, did a lot of online research, Galen leather popped up. I also asked my friends and all recommended the brand. So I bought this one as a present for myself. I expected long shipment, surprisingly it came quicker than I thought. The folio is exquisite and well made. It fits perfectly for my A5 hardcover bullet journal, beloved pens and stickers. I love it so much that I bought second one: expansi A5 folio for my hubby to give to me as Christmas present. Love them both.

This was something I wanted more than needed, and I absolutely love it! The pockets, the space, it's awesome! I just haven't figured out what to put in it yet. If you are considering buying it, just do it!

Love this thing, spent years before I could finally justify the price. The only issue I have is that my iPad mini barely fits, and wouldn’t if it was in a case. Either need a slimmer pad or needs an extra cm or 2 to make it fit comfortably. It strains the zipper when inside.

I CANNOT overstate how much I love my new folio. The feel of the crazy horse leather is absolutely divine. I love all of the pockets and bands, the weighty, smooth zipper, the color, the way the pocket for your notebook is split to carry a standard notebook or a legal pad, the way the leather will over time show its scuffs, the minimal raw edge of the leather that doesn’t have a coating that will peel, the packaging and customer service; I could go on and on. It’s supple, not too thick, and have I mentioned how soft the leather feels?? I found a phone case from Galen Leather on sale at an authorized retailer and immediately purchased it because I wanted to never let go of my new folio and that was a great compromise. After a couple of weeks, the case is already feeling just right in my hand and my oils from constantly holding my phone have only made it richer.
I have lots of leather products from lots of companies, but nothing has screamed “lifelong craftsmanship” quite like the products I own from Galen Leather.
I currently have mine loaded with a Stalogy 365 notebook (I don’t recommend anything thicker than that), blotter paper, many sheets of stickers, short ruler, petite adhesive runner, pen-shaped scissors, several bookmarks, a large clip (if attached to the notebook), small acrylic charm, Midori d-clip mini paperclips (it fits PERFECTLY in a band), several business cards, Kaweco sport (a pocket pen), two Esterbrook Esties (a thicker pen), Uniball P-one, and two Mildliners. I still think I have plenty of room for more things. My only criticism is that I wish it could hold a thicker notebook, but it can hold my Stalogy and that’s enough for me! The Galen Leather Tamoe River notebook (the one with the black cover, not the leather one) is a smidgen thicker and it’s a bit of a squish to zip it up. Keep in mind this is also with a chunkier-than-advertised notebook and some chunky pens in there, not your typical Pilot G-2 or Uniball Signo. This also wouldn’t be a problem if I just carried around two pens in the bands instead of the removable four-pen holder.
Anyway, have I made enough lists yet? Do I need to make more to convince you to support this business? Because you should. I was worried about the price but every penny is worth it, both for this folio and the smaller A6 Field Notes 5-pen case I got. If you need an excuse to justify it, please blame me haha.
